HKR Architects submit planning application for new office development on Sandwith Street Upper, Dublin 2
Leading International architecture and design practice, HKR Architects has submitted a detailed planning application to Dublin City Council on behalf of client Rails Investments Limited for a new build office development on Sandwith Street Upper, Dublin 2.
The proposal includes the provision of up to 110,000 sq.ft. of CAT A offices with associated amenity space such as café and meeting space, on-site parking, public realm and landscaping. The design incorporates significant environmental credentials to help future-proof the building with a brief to meet LEED Gold accreditation.
Geoff Brocklehurst, Director of HKR Architects comments, “The detailed planning application represents the significant regeneration of the former disused post office site on Sandwith Street to create a 21st century office building which will provide substantial new employment opportunity in the area. We were chosen by the client due to our track record of cutting edge high quality designs in the Dublin office sector, including the 30,000 sq. m. Burlington Road, Facebook Europe HQ and Microsoft HQ.”
“The proposed scheme will meet LEED Gold accreditation which means it will be resource efficient by using less water and energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The proposed building will also be in keeping with the existing residential street scene, encompassing the Georgian Dublin style.”
HKR Architects believes that with any scheme design is strongly connected to business success. Innovative workplaces have a profound effect on organisational culture and individual performance.
In a service orientated economy where staff retention and development is key to success, the best office space will attract the best people. HKR’s integrated workplace team optimise the internal environment to ensure they benefit both the developer and occupier alike.
