Shaping the Future of Build to Rent: Ayna Azhigali Joins Bisnow BTR Conference Panel

Last month, our Director, Ayna Azhigali, took part in an inspiring panel discussion at Bisnow’s Build to Rent (BTR) Conference. The session, Built to Last: The Future of Innovation and Development in Build to Rent, brought together industry leaders to explore what’s next for this fast-evolving sector.

The conversation centred on how BTR can continue to adapt and thrive by focusing on long-term value, with key themes including:

·       What renters are looking for in 2025 and beyond

·       Designing for genuine community and connection

·       Prioritising wellbeing and multigenerational living

·       Embedding innovation and technology from day one

·       Balancing affordability with long-term sustainability

Ayna shared her perspective on the importance of getting the design right from the outset—emphasising how thoughtful, flexible design is essential not just to meet the diverse needs of modern renters, but also to future-proof developments through early integration of smart technologies.

She also spoke to the need for long-term thinking across every stage of design and delivery—highlighting how sustainable, community-led solutions are the key to resilient and vibrant BTR neighbourhoods.

A big thank you to Bisnow for hosting such a forward-looking event, and to Vertus for providing a fantastic venue. It was a pleasure to contribute to such a meaningful discussion alongside a panel of truly visionary voices from across the industry.
